Camilla Dutra, Family Nurse Practitioner, is board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Camilla has extensive experience working as a registered nurse for 8 years in the emergency department. Her professional interests include all aspects of family medicine with a strong belief in advocating for improving patient health through preventative care.

She strives to build a trusting relationship with her patients to help them achieve their optimal health outcomes.

Camilla is bilingual in English and Portuguese and enjoys experiencing other cultures through travel. In her free time, Camilla enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies include reading, hiking and spending time outdoors.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I am compassionate and caring towards all my patients and use my extensive critical care knowledge and nursing experience to care for my patients as a whole.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
My patients should expect that I will respect and listen to them without judgment. I will strive to order the proper treatment and testing as deemed appropriate without exhausting my patient or external resources. 

I expect my patients to always be honest with me and never withhold valuable information. I expect my patients to come to their appointments and make active efforts toward a healthy lifestyle

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I spend my time surrounded by my family and friends. I love to travel and see new places. Some other activities I enjoy include hiking, boating and reading. 

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Nursing has always been my passion. I decided to become a nurse practitioner to be more involved with patient care. I want to care for patients on a more personal level and have a direct impact on their health. My greatest reward is making a difference in someone’s life, being able to educate patients & families, help improve their overall health and prevent illness.
