About Caryn J. Ecker
Professional Statement
Caryn Ecker, MSN, ACNP, joined the Whittingham Cancer Center in 2017. She is an acute care nurse practitioner and is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She focuses specifically on oncology. She completed her master's of science in nursing and graduated with honors from New York University in 2010. Caryn works in the oncology clinic setting, seeing patients with a variety of cancers. She works closely with a team of dedicated doctors and clinicians to help cancer patients and their families understand their treatment options and plans. Caryn is dedicated to providing patient-centered care to oncology patients and building strong relationships through open communication. Her goal is to truly get to know her patients to personalize their care by incorporating their needs and goals into the treatment plan. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, running after her 6-year-old twins, skiing and taking hikes in the beautiful Fairfield County.
Get To Know Me
Why should someone choose you to care for their health? I focus on patient-centered care with extensive knowledge and experience in oncology.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Patients can expect honest, direct and collaborative care. I appreciate it when patients are involved in decision-making regarding disease treatment and follow-up care.
How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I spend a lot of time with my family, occupied with my 7-year-old twin boys. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, the beach and cycling. I also have an interest in learning about the newest trials and drugs in the oncology world.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I find oncology fascinating, specifically breast cancer and genetics. The greatest reward is the relationships I build through the diagnosis and treatment process with a patient.

She was very pleasant easy to talk with, Asked me how I was feeling and made sure I was taking all my meds and made sure I did not need anything more and that I was not having any side effects from the meds that were ordered from oncology.
