Kathleen Kirrane, APRN

As a nurse practitioner, Katie focuses on patient-centered, evidence-based care. Katie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She attended MCPHS University to complete her BSN. Katie worked at Yale New Haven Hospital in an observation unit. Katie graduated from Georgetown University in December 2023 with a Master of Science as a family nurse practitioner. Katie has been living with Type 1 diabetes and has a passion for helping others with diabetes. 

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I value the importance of actively listening to my patients. Through active listening, I am able to gain understanding of how best to help them.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Honesty from me as the provider allows the patient to trust my advice and honesty from the patient allows me to safely help them.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I choose endocrinology because of the impact that my endocrinology team has had on me and I wanted to help others living with diabetes live their best life despite their disease.
