I am board certified in Gastroenterology. I see patients with a wide variety of gastroenterological problems. This includes reflux, constipation, stomach ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, etc. I perform colonoscopies and upper endoscopies. After finishing medical school in India, I completed my residency in Internal Medicine at NYU School of Medicine (Brooklyn Campus), following which I completed a fellowship in Gastroenterology at New York Medical College (Metropolitan program).

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
From me, patients can expect a physician who listens to them, advocates for them and keeps their interests at the forefront all the time. I work with my patients to create treatment plans that consider their preference, lifestyle and cultural values. I expect my patients to be honest and be forthcoming about their concerns,

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
When not caring for my patients, I like to spend time with my family. I also enjoy gardening.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose gastroenterology because digestive health is integral to the overall wellbeing of people. It offers a wide variety of conditions to diagnose and treat. Being able to contribute positively to my patient's wellbeing and health makes my day.
