Alex Westerman, DO

Dr. Alex Westerman is an internist, board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. As part of the Hospitalist Team, Dr. Westerman enjoys caring for patients when they are admitted – and helping to coordinate care when they are ready to leave. He also finds it rewarding to work closely with the rest of the hospital team to meet all the healthcare needs of our patients. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, disc golf and spending time with his growing family.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I will treat them like a family member (the ones that I like) and will do my best to get them to hospital discharge in the safest/most efficient manner.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
High quality, efficient care with a sense of humor.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
Never-ending home improvement projects and exploring local trails (which is mostly just actively dodging ticks).

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I love the complexity and breadth of internal medicine. The best reward is discharging a healthier patient from the hospital with them feeling 100% comfortable with their plan of care.
