Dr. Alexandre Martinho was born in Livingston, NJ and is a graduate of Rutgers University where he received his B.A. in Biological Sciences and English. He obtained his medical degree at New Jersey Medical School in Newark. His residency was in family medicine in Rhinebeck, NY. He is committed to lifelong learning and the pursuit of health equity.

My patients can expect empathy and respect, clear communication, and focused and attentive care. I expect my patients to be engaged in shared decision making.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
When not caring for patients, I like to watch my favorite soccer clubs play, go for a jog, travel when I can, and spend time with friends and family.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose family medicine because I value long-term relationships, continuity of care, and the opportunity to treat the whole person. The greatest reward for family medicine is the deep, lasting connection I build with patients.
