Andrew Nguyen, DO, Resident Physician

Andrew Nguyen, DO, is a resident physician with interests in addiction medicine. Originally from Denver, he developed an early appreciation for his community and mental health. He earned his medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), where his clinical experiences included work in addiction treatment settings spanning admission, detoxification, and rehabilitation care.

Dr. Nguyen is particularly interested in improving care for patients with substance use disorders and in developing tools that help clinicians better assess risk and support patient-centered treatment decisions. His broader clinical interests include behavioral health and care for underserved populations.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
Patients should choose me because I strive to treat every person with respect, compassion, and honesty. I believe good medical care begins with listening. My goal is not only to diagnose and treat illness, but also to understand each patient’s story, concerns, and goals.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I believe the best medical outcomes come from a partnership between physician and patient. My role is to provide medical knowledge, guidance, and honest recommendations.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I also enjoy spending time with my partner and taking advantage of opportunities to be outdoors whenever possible. Maintaining these interests helps me stay energized and focused so I can provide the best care for my patients.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Mental health plays such a critical role in a person’s overall well-being, yet many individuals struggle to access compassionate and effective care.
