About Anne M. Lucas
Professional Statement
Dr. Anne Lucas is a Family Nurse Practitioner, board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She achieved her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree at Columbia University, and in addition, she is also appointed as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing at Columbia University. Anne has spent the last 15 years of her career focusing on the field of cardiology. She enjoys all aspects of cardiology, and has particular interests in hypertension management, congestive heart failure, and preventive cardiology. Anne is also the Director of Cardiology Advanced Practice Providers at The Heart Center. Outside of work, Anne enjoys music, hiking, gardening and spending time with her family and her weimaraners.

I listen to my patients, and being a family member of a cardiac patient myself, I understand where the patient is coming from.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
A patient's concern will be taken seriously. If further workup and follow up is warranted, a patient should comply with that follow up as well.
How do you spend your personal time when you're not caring for patients?
I enjoy spending time outdoors with my dogs.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Cardiology chose me! Cardiac patients can have very serious diagnoses, but we can help them to still have a good quality of life.
