Ayat is a Family Nurse Practitioner, board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She has been a Nurse for over 10 years with a strong background in med-surg, oncology, and case management. Ayat received her undergraduate nursing degree from Pace University and is a graduate of the Mount Saint Mary College Nurse Practitioner program. As a long-time nurse at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Ayat is looking forward to continuing to provide quality healthcare.

I always strive to provide high-quality, compassionate care to all my patients.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I believe that mutual respect, honesty, and communication are the most important foundations of a patient-provider relationship.
How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I have had a special interest in oncology since my first undergrad nursing course. While I have worked in other specialties throughout my nursing career, I have often found myself returning to oncology. It’s incredibly rewarding to care for patients with what can be a life-altering diagnosis and I take pride in being able to help them and their families navigate through some of the toughest times in their lives.
