Benny Mathew, FNP-BC is a Family Nurse Practitioner board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. With over a decade of experience in Emergency Medicine, Benny holds board certifications in Emergency, Critical Care and Stroke Nursing. He is deeply committed to building strong patient relationships and advocating for healthcare justice, with a focus on aligning the healthcare delivery system with social determinants of health. Originally from the southern part of India, Benny has resided in New York since 2000. His dedication to healthcare began in the late 1990s as a seminarian with the Missionaries of Charity Fathers, founded by the late Mother Teresa of Calcutta. He enjoys cooking, listening to instrumental music, audiobooks and occasional road trips.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
As a hospitalist, I deal with many complex medical conditions and acute illnesses that are intellectually stimulating and professionally rewarding, offering continual learning and problem-solving opportunities.
