Camila A. Passias, MD

Dr. Camila Passias is a caring and mindful internist who believes in building partnerships with her patients. Her areas of expertise include prevention and wellness, as well as acute and chronic disease management, with an emphasis on empowering patients to actively participate in their care. She attended Tufts University where she received her medical degree, and completed her residency in internal medicine at the New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Passias is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is fluent in Spanish.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
While I do ensure to keep abreast of the ever-changing medical science that drives modern health care, my medical training was focused on treating the whole person with an emphasis on the human aspect of the doctor-patient relationship. I strive to connect with my patients to form a long-term partnership in their care.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
It is a priority for me that patients feel heard, and to walk out with the sense that their concerns were actively addressed. The only thing I ask in return is basic human courtesy and respect

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
Keeping up with my four children, spending time with my husband and trying to stay healthy with regular pilates and spin classes.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I have always felt I could listen to others' thoughts and concerns, not just to offer counsel in return but to be an active listener which we all need at times.
