Camille Wallace, FNP

Camille Wallace is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in healthcare over the last decade in a variety of roles. Camille values compassionate, effective communication and brings a holistic approach to the care and management of her patients. Throughout her journey in healthcare, she has been able to work in several different specialty environments, which has given her a more well-rounded perspective on both acute and chronic medical conditions. Camille is looking forward to building working relationships with her patients throughout the age continuum. When she is not working, she enjoys writing and performing music, reading, and the beautiful outdoors of the Hudson Valley.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I am the kind of person and practitioner who instinctively meets people where they are. I strive to understand where my patients are coming from to better aid in their care and treatment. I believe having more humanistic interactions with my patients will help foster more positive patient outcomes. I am an open book and love forming connections with my patients!

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
The most important thing that my patients can expect from me is that I am a listener. We cannot hear each other or learn from each other without truly listening. I believe that one of the most important things you can do as a practitioner is ensure that your patients feel heard. Listening is a very important aspect of effective communication! As far as my expectations, I expect to work together with my patients to find suitable solutions to the healthcare concerns that are expressed.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I am a major self-care advocate and I enjoy anything spa-related to decompress. It is so important to fill up the cup that you pour from. Otherwise, I enjoy trivia nights/game nights with friends, spending time with family and caring for my two rescue cats.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
The Family Nurse Practitioner route spoke to me instinctively. It is an honor to care for patients throughout the life span. The greatest reward of this field would be having long-lasting relationships with my patients and being able to care for them in whatever season of life they are in. I would like to help create effective change in healthcare, one patient at a time, whether that is through de-stigmatizing mental health issues, providing a safe and allied environment for people of the LGBTQ community, or in my empathic approach to patient care and wellness principles.
