Carolyn Antonion

Carolyn Antonion is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 13 years' experience in behavioral health. Carolyn received her master's degree from Fordham University in 2013 and has worked in community mental health, family and youth services, assisted living and memory care facilities, inpatient substance abuse, and most recently in a women's-focused group private practice. She utilizes CBT, ACT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and motivational interviewing in her work with patients. Prior to becoming an LCSW, she was a massage therapist for 10 years.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
My personal pursuit of knowledge directly and positively impacts my work with patients. I am currently working towards becoming PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health Certified) and MSCP (Menopause Society Certified) to be able to offer the most relevant, current information for our patients.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Collaboration. I look forward to collaborating on personal, realistic goals to help reduce symptoms, including healthy communication, reduced stress, clearer thinking, and improved relationships.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I am a native New Yorker, so I am still trying to discover everything CT has to offer, including some amazing hiking here in the New Milford area. I am learning to speak Italian, practicing the bass guitar, and I am an avid reader.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Helping a family member through an especially challenging time refocused my attention on mental health and the importance of solid support. This work is challenging, but helping patients find themselves again is the greatest reward I can think of.
