Get To Know Me
Why should someone choose you to care for their health
Patients should have high expectations for their primary care doctor, who will serve as their principal, longstanding source of medical advice. I strive to listen, be flexible, and provide effective, evidence-based solutions to problems. I hope to help you achieve your health goals and celebrate them with you!
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Patients can expect me to be open to suggestions and to be willing to work with them and their families through whatever life changes occur. I believe in making shared decisions with patients as opposed to telling them what to do. In return, I hope for honest communication from my patients.
How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
Originally from Ridgefield, I am thrilled to be back in Connecticut after many years away. I look forward to spending time with old friends and family. In my spare time, I enjoy trying new restaurants, baking, and spending time with my husband, son, and two dogs.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose Internal Medicine, specifically primary care because I love caring for patients over a long period and getting to know their families. I enjoy being the person who focuses on the patient as a whole and makes sense of their multiple medical diagnoses and treatments that specialists may recommend.

Dr. Smith is the most caring doctor I've ever been to. She spends time truly understanding what is going on and not only actually cares but tries very hard to uncover root causes and truly is invested in helping me feel better. She is a true angel.

She never makes you feel rushed and is very patient with older patients. She picked up on low sodium levels and adjusted blood pressure medication to improve the situation. She makes appropriate referrals to other specialists when needed. She’s very busy but adjusts her schedule so she can follow up every 4 months.

Dr. Smith is my hero! She always takes the time to listen to me and my needs. She makes me feel I can be my best self. She is extremely knowledgeable and one of the kindest doctors I’ve ever known. She introduced me to GLP-1 medication for my obesity disease and this has been a game changer. She’s my hero!!
