Christine E. O'Connor, APRN

Christine O’Connor, MSN, FNP is a board-certified nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Georgetown University in 2010 and her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Columbia University in 2015.

She has been working in oncology for 12 years and has a special interest in hematologic malignancies. Christine believes in the importance of caring for the whole person, and not just treating the disease. She has a passion for patient education and is known for supporting patients through the side effects and complications associated with cancer treatment.

In her free time, she loves playing golf, traveling and spending time with her husband and her 1-year-old daughter.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I have many years of experience in oncology. I provide evidence-based care in collaboration with your oncologist.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I strive to address all my patient’s concerns during their visit and ensure they leave confident in the care provided. I expect patients to be open and honest.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I enjoy spending time with my family, swimming and exploring new restaurants in the area.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
At a young age, I had family members impacted by cancer, which is what initially inspired me to work in oncology. It is exciting to be part of a specialty where new treatment options are constantly being developed. The greatest reward has been developing close relationships with patients throughout their cancer journey.
