Christine Wilson, AGACNP

Christine Wilson is a board-certified Acute Care Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She began her career as a bedside RN at New York Presbyterian Columbia Medical Center, and after becoming an NP joined the Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She is focused on the management of post-operative patients in the ICU as well as during their stay inpatient.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I strive to provide excellent service, and I am dedicated to educating patients through their post-operative journey after cardiothoracic surgery.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I facilitate a team-based approach when working with my patients. I include the patients with decision making and future care as well as keeping open communication.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I enjoy staying active, working out on the Peloton and getting outdoors as well as keeping busy with my husband and two children.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose this specialty due to my interest in cardiac and helping patients navigate the challenges that come with needing surgery. I truly enjoy witnessing each person’s recovery.
