Cooper R. Swenson, MD

Cooper Swenson is an emergency medicine physician based out of Danbury and New Milford Hospitals. A local, Dr. Swenson grew up in Bridgewater. He received his medical degree from the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University on Long Island before returning to Connecticut to complete his residency at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
Growing up locally and now returning as an attending physician, I have a vested interest in caring for my community.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I strive to provide excellent care for my patients physically and emotionally during some of the most stressful times of their life and I am grateful for their trust.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I value time with my family and enjoy relaxing with a good book or video game.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Practicing emergency medicine allows me to maintain a breadth of medical knowledge across several disciplines and care for my patients during many of the most stressful times of their lives.
