Crystal Boyce, APRN

Crystal Boyce, APRN, is a Pediatric Hospital Medicine Nurse Practitioner at Connecticut Children’s at locations in Hartford, Waterbury and Danbury.

Crystal received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014 and master’s in nursing in 2020 from Drexel University. Crystal's background is in Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine. Her interests include emergency treatment of respiratory illnesses, the neonatal population and medical education.

I bring a blend of compassion, expertise, and dedication to their care. My kindness and patience create a comforting environment, especially for children and their families, fostering trust and open communication. I stay current with the latest pediatric techniques, ensuring evidence-based, cutting-edge care tailored to each patient's needs.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I am compassionate, kind and a great listener incorporating information received into a shared decision-making plan. My expectation for the child and their family is to consider my thoughts and ideas on assessment and treatment. Together, we will come up with the best possible plan for the patient and it will lead to a satisfactory hospital experience.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I enjoy reading, hiking and spending time with my husband, three children and two stepchildren. I enjoy scuba diving and listening to the waves at the beach on a warm summer day.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Pediatrics is very challenging and enjoyable at the same time. You get to bring out your inner child, while caring for patients. Bubbles are used most of the time! The greatest reward is not only getting to see the children feel better but giving the family in its entirety the best hospital experience possible.
