D’Leah completed her medical education at the Gardner-Webb University Physician Assistant Program in Boiling Springs, NC, and advanced her training through the Norwalk Hospital / Yale School of Medicine PA Surgical Residency Program. There, she gained hands-on experience in preoperative and postoperative management, trauma evaluation, and essential surgical skills. When I'm not caring for patients, I enjoy reading, painting, being outdoors, staying active, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I've developed a strong interest in thoracic surgery recently. I find the field fascinating because it involves such intricate procedures and cutting-edge technology, and has a profound impact on patients' health. My experiences during the surgical residency have reinforced my desire to specialize in this field, and I am excited about the challenges and rewards it offers.
