Get To Know Me
Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
My education and training have focused on gaining molecular insights into various tumor subgroups, including studies of DNA mismatch repair protein deficiency in gastrointestinal and endometrial carcinomas, which is now a routine integral part of predictive/prognostic testing. As a member of the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists, I continue to devote my time and learning towards incorporating advances in diagnostic classification, reporting, and appropriate selection of ancillary testing for patients.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Patients should expect that I will play an integral role in assisting and guiding their surgical and medical staff to provide high-quality care.
How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
Outside of my role in medicine, my wonderful wife, son and I enjoy outdoor activities including climbing, hiking and cycling, as well as practicing musical and visual arts. I also have a penchant for mechanical and electrical repairs and spend time restoring/operating vintage industrial textile production machinery and various electronics with occasional success.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose my specialty as it provided an intersection between my research background and the provision of clinical care. I have been lucky to have some wonderful mentors. The greatest reward has been being continually challenged to learn and adapt.
