Dimitry Zilberman, DO

Dr. Zilberman is a board-certified maternal fetal medicine specialist. He believes in individualized, nurturing care and support for expectant mothers with medical conditions or obstetric complications, and for those whose pregnancy is complicated by a fetal structural, genetic abnormality or a multiple gestation. His areas of expertise include prenatal diagnosis, multiple gestations, cervical insufficiency and medical complications of pregnancy such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disease and autoimmune disorder. High-risk conditions often affect both the mother and the baby, and involve care from specialists across many disciplines. Dr. Zilberman collaborates with ob/gyn providers, genetic counselors, neonatologists and other subspecialists to help families during complex pregnancies.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Patients should expect a detailed discussion about the issues at hand. I encourage family support. I love it when patients ask many questions and are an active participant in care and decision-making.

How do you spend your personal time when you're not caring for patients?
I enjoy tennis and outdoor activities. When I am not caring for patients, I enjoy teaching medical students and ob/gyn residents.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose maternal fetal medicine because it allows me to help families during difficult times. Seeing a healthy baby and a healthy mom in the end of the pregnancy is my greatest reward.
