Ehan Anna McCartney, CNM

E. Anna McCartney is a nurse midwife certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board. She graduated from the midwifery program at Columbia University School of Nursing and has worked as a hospital-based midwife for the last five years. Previously, she worked as a labor nurse and before that, as a labor doula. She is very passionate about caring for women in all stages of their life and health including pregnancy, birth, preconception, preventative care, family planning, infertility, abortion care and menopause. Anna truly loves the work that she does and can't imagine having any other career. In her free time, she spends it with her husband and two boys.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I am deeply passionate about my work and committed to delivering patient-centered care. I take my patients' trust in me very seriously.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
The most important thing they should expect from me is that they will be the center of their care. I will provide them with evidence-based care and they will always have informed choices.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I like to spend time with my children and my family. 

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I am in constant awe of human resiliency. Nothing shows me more of that than working in Women's health and caring for pregnant mothers. My greatest reward is patient satisfaction.
