About Elisabeth C. Henvy
Professional Statement
Elisabeth Henvy, ANP-BC, is a board certified adult nurse practitioner. She earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Fairfield University and started her provider career as a registered nurse (RN) on the medical, cardiac step-down unit and intensive care unit (ICU). She then obtained a master of science in nursing from Western Connecticut State University so she could pursue her passion of caring for patients with progressive chronic or serious illness. She is an advanced certified hospice and palliative care nurse (ACHPN) and works as a palliative care consultant at Danbury Hospital where she assesses, evaluates, treats symptoms, identifies values, and provides support to patients and families who have life limiting conditions or experience serious illness. In her free time, she hikes the local trails, on foot or on horseback.
Get To Know Me
Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
My job is to get to know my patients so they always receive care consistent with their values.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Honesty, openness and respect allows me to provide the best care possible to my patients. I ask that of my patients and their families and will provide the same in return.
How do you spend your personal time when you're not caring for patients?
Outside of the hospital, I spend my time hiking the local trails on foot or on horseback with my husband and our pup.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Palliative care allows me to support patients and families through complex medical situations, always focusing on patient centered care whatever that means for each individual.
