Emily Bonitatibus, FNP

Emily Bonitatibus is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She completed her bachelors degree at Quinnipiac University and her masters degree at Pace University. After completing her bachelors degree in 2014, she began working as an RN on a medical-surgical inpatient unit that specialized in oncology and hospice care. Most recently was practicing as a FNP in an internal medicine primary care office. 

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
As a nurse first and foremost I am a compassionate and open listener. I provide high-quality patient care, and that starts with listening to my patients. I believe that patients are in the driver's seat and providing the care they need starts with hearing and understanding their concerns and perspective.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
The most important thing patients should expect from their professional relationship with me is open and transparent communication. I believe that clear and honest communication between patients, physicians and nurse practitioners improves the quality of care provided.

 How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family. I am married with two beautiful boys. I enjoy being creative, doing crafts with my boys and making gifts for loved ones. I also enjoy watching all kinds of movies, from horror to comedy.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose oncology because of my experience with patients while caring for them as an RN during my time on the medical-surgical inpatient unit. Practicing oncology requires not only skill and expertise, but also heart and soul.
