Emma Ryan, MD

Emily Ryan, MD is a board-certified anesthesiologist with specialization in adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology. Dr. Ryan completed her training in Baltimore, MD and is looking forward to practicing in Connecticut where her family resides. 

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
Although my fellowship is in cardiac anesthesia, I enjoy providing care for all types of cases and patients.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
You can expect a compassionate, personable anesthesiologist with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you're not caring for patients?
I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters, Isabel (4) and Penelope (2), as well as being active and working out.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose cardiac anesthesia specifically to have the training and skills to take care of the sickest patients in the hospital, but also to be able to care for all types of patients.
