Eric Alvarez, CNM is a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nurse Midwife who believes in honoring the natural birthing process and providing holistic, patient-centered care. With a philosophy that values the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of every individual, Eric strives to create a safe and empowering environment for all birthing people and their families.

Deeply passionate about addressing healthcare disparities—especially those impacting women of color—Eric is committed to advancing equity in maternal health through education, advocacy, and inclusive clinical practice. He believes every person deserves respectful, evidence-based care that recognizes their unique needs, experiences, and voices.

When he's not supporting families through pregnancy and birth, Eric continues to strive for community outreach and health education aimed at improving access and outcomes for underserved populations.

Having worked in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum in 4 major metropolitan hospitals, I have experience working with families from varying backgrounds, communities, and walks of life.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
The patient is an equal member of the healthcare team and will always have a judgement-free space to share their voice.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I love cooking and trying new recipes as well as reading, hiking, and finding hole-in-the wall restaurants to try.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
To provide safe, equitable care to all childbearing people and address healthcare disparities. Its greatest reward is being part of a monumental experience for families.
