Evan Hampel, AGPCNP

Evan Hampel is a board-certified gerontology nurse practitioner. Evan provides care to adolescents and adults ages 13 and older and specializes in the care of the elderly population. Evan’s goal in practice is to provide inclusive, patient-oriented care, focusing on healthcare needs and patient goals. Evan was born and raised in the Hudson Valley Region. He has volunteered with local fire departments and ambulance agencies. Evan feels a strong connection with the community. During his free time, Evan values time spent with his family and friends, tending to his pets, various outdoor leisure activities, playing softball and ice hockey, attending live concerts and plays, and reading.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
As an experienced nurse, I believe in the importance of listening to and working with the patient and their families to achieve the best outcomes possible. I feel that patients deserve the best healthcare possible and deserve a team that sincerely cares about them.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Patients can expect a provider who is dedicated to their healthcare needs, who will take into account all factors affecting their health and will create a plan of care that works for them. I expect patients to be active participants in the healthcare process, voice their concerns and be honest in reporting the positive and negative effects of the treatment plan.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I enjoy spending my time with my family and pets, participating in various outdoor activities and team sports, reading, listening to music and attending plays and concerts

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I have always had a fascination and passion for cardiology. It intrigues me. It is an important and rewarding specialty. The greatest reward is working with the patients, helping them and having them get relief from symptoms and a new lease on life.
