Gary S. Schleiter, MD

Dr. Schleiter is an infectious diseases specialist and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Schleiter sees patients ages 18+ and provides consultations regarding illnesses caused by a wide variety of living pathogens. His special areas of interests are in diabetic-related infections, surgical-related infections, blood stream infections and HIV. Dr. Schleiter provides care in the hospital setting as well as the office setting.

I feel that listening to my patients is of utmost importance to understand their experience as well as to help their physical problems.

How do you spend your personal time when you're not caring for patients?
I am an avid reader with a broad range of interests. I enjoy the outside natural world as well as our animal companions.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
In my specialty, I collaborate with a complete spectrum of other medical practitioners and specialists, and I try to see an individual as a whole person and not only a single problem.
