Hannah B. Zetlin Wong, NP

Hannah earned her first undergraduate degree from Brandeis University in 2010 in Health Science & Policy as well as in educational studies. During her time at Brandeis, she worked as a preschool teacher. Hannah earned her second Bachelor in Nursing from Stony Brook University and worked for Stony Brook Hospital's Neonatal ICU for 7 years as an RN. While working, she continued her studies to become a Certified Lactation Counselor and earned her Masters degree from Stony Brook University. She then passed her boards to become a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in several level 2 NICUs and well-baby nurseries. She has a passion for caring for infants and supporting families.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I love what I do, and feel privileged to be able to care for someone's new baby. I believe that to care for a newborn you need to support the entire family.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Patients should expect culturally sensitive care and a provider who takes the time to truly listen to them, and address concerns/ answer questions. I have no expectations from my patients, as they are newborns and sleep-deprived parents.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children. I also love running and exercising.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
My passion is working with newborns. It is so special to be a part of a new life and an infant's transition to life outside the womb. Its greatest reward is to see a family grow and thrive together.
