I am from New Jersey. I went to Rutgers University for my undergraduate and LMU-DCOM in Tennessee for medical school. I returned to New Jersey for my residency training in Internal Medicine and also completed a fellowship in Sleep Medicine.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I will always listen to their concerns and address them to the best of my ability. They can expect a transparent and personalized plan to navigate their health needs.
How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I spend time traveling with my husband and family.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I believe that continuity of care is important for maintaining health. The biggest reward comes from seeing improvement in your patients and receiving feedback on their progress.

Dr. Patel makes me feel so comfortable. She answers all of my questions and my concerns that I have. She has a GREAT bedsides manner. I’m very fortunate to have her as my Doctor.

Dr Patel is a wonderful dr she listens to what i have to say providing answers to any questions and/or her thoughts. I only have to wait 5/10 minutes to be taken in the room to have a workup go over my medications and within 10 minutes after that Dr Patel will come in to talk to me. I absolutely LOVE Primary Care in Southbury and Dr Patel and because of how highly I had talked about her my husband is a patient of hers too. 😊

Dr. Patel has been my doctor for the past 13 months, and I feel she is the best doctor I have ever had. She listens to me very patiently and answers all of my questions very thoroughly. I never feel rushed, and most importantly, I feel that she genuinely cares about my health and my progress. In the past six months I have felt better than I have in years and I attribute that to her knowledge and skills as a doctor. I feel very fortunate that I have her as a doctor!
