Heather Bigby, CNM

Heather Bigby is a Certified Nurse Midwife who has been taking care of women for over 17 years. Affectionately called “Bigby” by peers and patients she continuously provides personalized attention to her patients. Heather has a special interest in sexually transmitted diseases believing they can be avoided by awareness. Outside of work…which is never done, she enjoys reading and watching mystery stories as well as playing a great card game with family and friends.

I care about my patients regardless of background.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I am not biased. I only want the best outcome for mother and baby. I also want the best 
experience for Dad because he needs to be included in the care. They should expect optimal 
women's care in every possible way. I do go above and beyond and do it with a smile.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
My personal time is dedicated to my family; cooking, shopping and watching movies. They 
are most important to me. When not with family, I enjoy doing nothing.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose this specialty to bring happiness in this world. I love seeing the tears of joy when a 
new life enters.
