Alex Mosteanu, MD

Dr. Alex Mosteanu is a board-certified internist who completed both an internship and a residency program in internal medicine at Yale University/Danbury Hospital. He is the Neligan-Safford Endowed Chair in Primary Care. His strong commitment to excellence is proven by his awards and distinctions he has received, including intern of the year, resident of the year and chief resident. After his year of service as chief resident, he started his career at Ridgefield Primary Care and continues his unwavering quest to provide individualized, high-quality care with an academic focus. He strongly believes that when patients, students and residents are involved in the clinical care, the diagnosis becomes more precise, unnecessary tests and procedures are avoided and outcomes are improved.

We all look for a physician that is easy to talk to, makes a true effort to understand us and tailors his approach to our needs. This is what I try to emulate with all of my patients.

You should expect excellence in communication (understanding your conditions, the management and outcomes), excellence in competency (kept sharp by academic participation) and consistency.

How do you spend your personal time when you're not caring for patients?
I love to spend time with my family doing outdoor activities.

Internal medicine offers the diagnosis conundrums, diversity of conditions and potential to help patients that keeps you always wondering, reading and engaged.
