About Jacob Zaslavsky
Professional Statement
Dr. Jacob Zaslavsky was born in Boston, MA and raised in New Jersey, where he developed a strong foundation for his future in medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree from Brandeis University, followed by his medical degree from Rowan University SOM. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson, where he was selected to spend an additional year as a Chief Resident to explore his interests in leadership and teaching.
Following his residency, he pursued his Rheumatology Fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He is excited to establish his practice in Connecticut, where he can make a lasting difference in the lives of his patients and contribute to the local medical community. In his spare time, Dr. Zaslavsky likes to play golf, watch sports, and spend quality time with his wife and daughter.
Get To Know Me
Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I try to get to know my patients on an individual level and understand the full extent of their symptomatology to make accurate diagnoses and personally tailored treatment plans.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
My patients should expect a doctor that listens, cares, and is confident about the direction forward in managing their complex conditions. I expect my patients to be open, honest, and willing to work together with me as a team to help them feel better and take control of their health.
How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I enjoy playing golf, watching sports (especially the New England Patriots), and spending quality time with my wife and daughter.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I am drawn to rheumatology's unique blend of detective work and personalized care. It is endlessly gratifying to watch my patients improve over time and to develop lasting professional relationships with them.
