Jakelinne E. Caballero-Asta, PA

Jakelinne Caballero-Asta is a board-certified physician assistant. She graduated from Long Island University– Brooklyn campus PA program in 2007. Jakelinne previously worked as an internal medicine/hospitalist PA at Mount Sinai Medical Center where she found her passion for the field of gastroenterology. She cares for patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal diseases with particular interest and focus on Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. 

Outside of the office, Jakelinne enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She is a devout hockey mom. She enjoys the outdoors, skiing, biking, boating, spending time at the beach, traveling, cooking and finding new places to eat. 

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I value the relationships I develop with my patients. Patients often feel uncomfortable discussing the intimate details of their digestive issues. I strive to create a comfortable environment and put my patients at ease.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I am a fierce advocate for my patients and value their time and trust in my care. It's important that my patients feel heard and engaged in the decision-making process to better their health and wellness.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I enjoy the outdoors and traveling. I love spending time with my friends and family and am also a proud hockey mom.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I have always been fascinated by the field of gastroenterology and the profound effect digestive diseases can have on a person's life. I am honored to be able to help make an impact on a patient's digestive health and overall well-being.
