Dr. Jay D'Orso is a double board-certified pediatrician and internist who join us in 1999. In his care of newborns, infants, toddlers, children and patients of all ages, he makes himself remarkably available to care for the whole family (in person or virtual visits). Dr. D'Orso believes that convenient access for urgent and not-so-urgent issues with a warm, friendly manner helps build long-term, trusting relationships. Areas of expertise include pediatric and adult wellness and preventative care, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions and a particular interest in the care of newborns, babies, children and teens. Dr. D'Orso prides himself on his approachability and thoroughness. In his free time, Dr. D'Orso enjoys spending time with family, running, biking, swimming and reading.

I am driven by what is best for the patient. My communication is clear and relaxed. I have advanced training in both pediatrics and internal medicine so I can care for the entire family.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
Empathy, respect and an unwavering commitment to communicate, as well as the best, up-to-date, evidence-based medical information and advice to make decisions with the patient, not for the patient.
How do you spend your personal time when you're not caring for patients?
Spending time with family and friends, running, biking, swimming, skiing, reading (medical journals and historical fiction) and a favorite of mine—time at the beach!
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Training in pediatrics and internal medicine allowed me to achieve my goal of becoming a small town doctor. It's an honor to serve as the primary care doctor for multiple generations within families.
