About Jeanine S. Famiglietti
Professional Statement
Dr. Jeanine Famiglietti is a board-certified internist and palliative care physician. She graduated from SUNY (the State University of New York) at Binghamton with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Italian and then SUNY at Stony Brook School of Medicine. After competing residency at NYU (New York University) Medical Center-Bellevue Hospital in internal medicine, she worked in hospital medicine. She transitioned her focus to palliative care, a humanistic approach to provide support and improve quality of life for patients and families throughout their journey with serious illness. She works closely with an interdisciplinary team in order to relieve physical, emotional, and spiritual distress, both in the hospital as well as in an office setting. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, playing classical piano and spending time with her two daughters.
Get To Know Me
Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I can help patients and families navigate next steps when facing the enormous stress of serious illness.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I try to ensure that the patient's care plans reflects their goals, values, and wishes. I work in collaboration with other specialists to provide guidance and support.
How do you spend your personal time when you're not caring for patients?
I love to explore cooking Italian and Greek recipes, listening to and playing classical piano music, and taking walks in the scenic hills of Connecticut. Most importantly, I enjoy being a mom to my two daughters.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
The greatest reward is the meaningful relationships that I am privileged to have with patients and families during the most difficult times. Being able to be a part of their journey has been a gift.
