Jeanwan Kang, MD

Jeanwan Kang, MD, is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Staff Vascular Surgeon. She received her MD from Harvard Medical School and completed general surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, in Boston. She is an expert in both open and endovascular treatment for the full spectrum of vascular disease with a particular focus on complex aortic, carotid, and peripheral arterial disease. She has served on national, regional, and local vascular surgery committees and has been actively involved in clinical research throughout her career. She is a member on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Vascular Surgery, the official journal of the Society for Vascular Surgery.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I strive to treat each patient with the highest level of expertise, respect and compassion that I would wish for any member of my family. My hope is that my patients will feel confident and safe in the care they receive and be invested in working together to achieve the best possible outcome.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I like to read, run, travel, and take time to enjoy nature with my family and friends.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Vascular surgery is a specialty that offers long-term relationships with my patients. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to get patients through difficult surgeries and see improvement in their lives.
