Jennifer Hubbard, MD, FACS, is a highly accomplished and versatile surgeon whose career is marked by compassion, dedication, excellence and innovation.
She earned her medical degree with highest honors from Ross University School of Medicine. She completed a rigorous general surgery residency at Saint Mary’s Hospital, an affiliate of Yale School of Medicine, during which she completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in molecular cardiology and angiogenesis. She advanced her training further with a fellowship in surgical critical care through the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Dr. Hubbard’s clinical practice spans trauma surgery, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care at Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut, as well as general surgery in a variety of settings—most recently at Tséhootsooí Medical Center, serving the Navajo Nation. Her diverse experience includes care across rural, suburban, and urban environments, and spans community, regional, and tertiary care hospitals. She has worked in academic centers and underserved regions alike.
She has held multiple leadership roles focused on improving quality and access in medical care. Her initiatives range from piloting an emergency general surgery robotics program, advocating for broader access to minimally invasive techniques for acutely ill patients, to serving as an instructor for nationally recognized trauma programs, including Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Advanced Surgical Skills for Exposure (ASSET).
Dr. Hubbard is also a published author of multiple peer-reviewed articles and has contributed to clinical handbooks, guidelines, and examination preparation content in her areas of expertise. Her academic contributions have been repeatedly recognized with awards for outstanding research presentations, excellence in teaching, fostering a supportive learning environment, and her service as an academic faculty member.
She has served on national trauma committees, delivered numerous invited lectures on a wide range of surgical topics, and has provided dedicated mentorship to surgeons in training.
