Jessica Halvorsen, FNP

Jessica Halvorsen, MSN, FNP-BC is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a strong foundation in critical care and a passion for preventive health and patient advocacy. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with honors from Yale University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Connecticut State University. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Jessica gained extensive experience caring for critically ill patients in the intensive care unit, where she received honors such as the Nurse Excellence Award and contributed to a Beacon Award–winning team. From these experiences, she developed a deep appreciation for the importance of proactive and holistic care. Her background has shaped her thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to patient care and fuels her dedication to empowering patients through education and early intervention. Jessica believes in building strong, trusting relationships with her patients and enjoys working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
My patients can expect compassion and trust. I hope they feel heard, valued, and comfortable as we work together toward their health goals.

 How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
I enjoy hiking, volunteering at dog shelters, and spending time with my family and friends.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose breast surgery for its focus on prevention and advocacy. Helping women feel heard and supporting long, healthy lives is incredibly rewarding.
