Jessica Lewis-Caporal, CNM

Jessica Lewis-Caporal, DNP, is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Family Nurse Practitioner. She provides comprehensive care for women throughout all life stages, from preteens to those experiencing menopause. Her dedication to women’s health is reflected in her clinical and research interests, which focus on improving care for women with early pregnancy complications, increasing access to affordable contraception, and promoting high-quality, evidence-based prenatal care.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I listen to my patient's questions and concerns about their health with compassion, empathy, and non-judgment. We then create a plan for their care together, using shared decision-making and including their wishes and needs. I will always advocate for the care my patient needs.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their
professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I value mutual respect in the patient/provider relationship.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you are not caring for patients?
When I am away from patients, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, and grandchildren. I love animals- so you will often find me trying to keep up with my German Shepherd or cuddling with rescued cats. I am an avid reader, so my Kindle or a book can always be found nearby. Other hobbies I enjoy include board games, building dollhouses, anddecorating my house for Halloween each year.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I thoroughly enjoy caring for my patients as they navigate their reproductive life- wherever it may take them.  I feel privileged to be invited to witness some of the most beautiful and impactful moments of my patient's lives, and also sometimes the most difficult ones. Overall, I feel I have the best job in the world.
