Joan Ellen Gereg, APRN

Joan Ellen Gereg, APRN, MS is a geriatric nurse practitioner. She has more than 30 years experience caring for older adults in a variety of settings. The field of geriatrics has been her lifelong passion. She believes that caring for older adults requires a willingness to listen and consider the multiple physical, psychological and emotional aspects of well-being. She also has a strong interest in palliative and end-of-life care. In her free time, Joan enjoys reading, exercising and spending time with family and friends.

I will listen to their concerns and together we will create a plan that meets the patient's needs.

How do you spend your personal time when you're not caring for patients?
I love being in the great outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Care of the elderly has been my passion for more than 30 years. I find joy in my work every day. It is my patients who are my best teachers and each day I learn from them.
