Jody R. Finnegan, PA

Jody Finnegan is a board-certified physician assistant. She obtained her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, Illinois. After graduate school, Jody was accepted into the competitive Norwalk Hospital/Yale Physician Assistant Surgical Residency. After the residency, Jody was awarded the Yoichi Katsube Memorial Award recognizing her for exemplifying diligence, integrity, and surgical ability. Jody has worked in a variety of surgical settings in both the hospital and private practice including critical care, general surgery, and orthopedics. She loves spending time with patients and truly getting to know them as individuals rather than simply diagnoses. Outside of work, Jody loves spending time with her three children, hiking with her dogs, yoga and listening to live music.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I truly believe in getting to know the whole person and looking at all the pieces of the puzzle to put together the whole picture of health.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I believe in being straightforward, honest, and most importantly having a relationship with patients based on mutual trust and respect.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
When I am not working, I love spending time with my husband and three children as well as hiking with our dogs. When I have a free second, I love doing yoga, cuddling up with a great book, and listening to live music.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Although physician assistants have horizontal movement across all specialties, I have always worked in surgical specialties. I love to work with my hands and fix things and surgery offers that alongside general patient care.
