John A. Spera, MD

Dr. John Spera is a bilingual, board certified radiation oncologist who serves as Chief of Radiation Oncology at Danbury and New Milford Hospitals. He has a general practice with special interests in stereotactic radiotherapy, cancers of the head and neck, breast and prostate. Dr. Spera believes cancer care should be delivered with technological excellence. A native of Stamford, Connecticut, he enjoys spending time with his patients in a friendly environment and to identify a personal care plan to best meet your needs.

How do you spend your personal time when you are not caring for patients?
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, skiing, gardening, and traveling.
 

Why did you choose your specialty and what is your greatest reward?
Unfortunately, my family has been prone to cancer and I chose this field to make a difference.
