About Jose R. Orellana
Professional Statement
I was born in Honduras, a beautiful Central American country. Due to the political and economic instability of my native country, my parents brought me and my three siblings to live in New York City. I attended college and medical school in New York and then moved to Boston to complete my Internal Medicine Residency at Boston University Medical Center. After completing my medical training, I moved to Connecticut in 1997. I have enjoyed living and working in Connecticut, where I have found a great community of cherished friends.
Get To Know Me
Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
Because they will get a clinician who will be a partner in providing them with the best high-quality care.
What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
They can expect respect, integrity, honesty, trustworthiness, and someone who cares. I expect the same from them.
How do you spend your valuable personal time when you're not caring for patients?
I enjoy traveling and reading. Both hobbies give me the opportunity to learn from new experiences and cultures, either through my own eyes or through the experiences shared by others in their writings.
Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose my specialty inspired by my pediatrician and my parents' private physician back in my native country. My greatest reward is having my life enriched by many patients who have taught me perseverance, fortitude, and grace under the greatest adversities of life.
