Joseph Bargellini, MD

Dr. Joseph Bargellini is a radiation oncologist, board-certified by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Bargellini and his collaborative team provide radiation therapy to adult cancer patients. He is trained in and practices the SpaceOAR technique to treat localized prostate cancer. He has been in practice at New Milford Hospital for more than 20 years. Dr. Bargellini is especially interested in using new and exciting technology to continually improve cancer care for patients. In his free time, he enjoys personal fitness, reading classic novels and cooking. In the summer months, he enjoys water skiing on Lake Lillinonah.

Patients should expect quality cancer care, based in established guidelines and standards, within a kind and caring environment. Patients need to be honest about their needs so they can be addressed appropriately.

How do you spend your personal time when you're not caring for patients?
I enjoy personal fitness, reading classic novels, cooking and water skiing during the summer.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
Radiation oncology is a technical specialty where I can use my engineering, math and physics background. Participating in curing cancer is the greatest reward.
