Dr. Joshua Marcus is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in the surgical treatment of brain and spine conditions. He is the chief of neurosurgery at Norwalk Hospital, and the chief of neurointerventional radiology at Danbury Hospital and Norwalk Hospital.
Dr. Marcus has advanced training in the minimally invasive treatment of cerebrovascular conditions, including brain aneurysms, brain hemorrhage and ischemic stroke. He also cares for people with brain and spine tumors and degenerative and traumatic spine disease.
Dr. Marcus maintains a patient-centered approach to tackle disorders of the spine. He has extensive experience with minimally invasive techniques and maintains a conservative approach using multiple modalities, often using surgery as a last resort only when necessary. He spends time making patients feel comfortable, providing education and discussing their condition in great detail.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing hockey and skiing.

Dr. Marcus is a superb doctor and a highly qualified surgeon. I trust him implicitly and he is probably the most honest doctor I have encountered in my [age] years of life. His outgoing manner is quite refreshing and his practice runs like clockwork. Extremely efficient. I’ve placed my life in his hands on a few occasions with total confidence in his abilities. I can’t thank him enough for improving the quality of my life thru his precise surgeries. He is a gem!
