Kai Ying Lin, MD

Dr. Lin is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with a patient-centered approach to mental health care. She believes the most effective treatment begins with trust, and she works collaboratively with each patient to better understand their experiences, needs and goals. Dr. Lin completed her medical degree at Boston University and went on to train in psychiatry, where she developed a broad and flexible approach to adult psychiatric care. She welcomes patients facing a wide range of concerns—from anxiety and depression to life transitions and persistent mental health challenges—and tailors her treatment plans to each person’s unique context. Her style is grounded in the belief that meaningful change comes from a strong therapeutic relationship. Whether through medication management, supportive psychotherapy or simply providing a safe space to talk, Dr. Lin is committed to helping patients feel heard, respected and empowered in their care.

I enjoy reading fiction, playing games, exploring new places, and trying good food.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose psychiatry to understand people deeply. The greatest reward is witnessing growth, healing, and resilience in the face of struggle.
