Kathryn Sullivan, PA

Kathryn Sullivan is a physician assistant, who is board certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is a graduate of Philadelphia University and completed her Master's of Physician Assistant Studies at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She started her career as a physician assistant in 2020 working in oncology for Montefiore Medical Center. She joined the Praxair Cancer Center in April of 2023. Kathryn is determined to provide high-quality care, based on the standard of care and personal needs of each patient. Outside of work, Kathryn enjoys spending time outside with her husband and dog, traveling to new places and reading good books.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
I am a caring and compassionate provider, that is determined to provide the best quality care for my patients. I strive to build a relationship with my patients and identify their values/needs to help tailor their management and future care.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
My patients should expect that I will prioritize their needs and advocate for them. They can also expect me to be honest with them while maintaining compassion. I expect my patients to be open and honest. I also expect my patients to be actively engaged in their care and not be afraid to ask questions.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my family, friends and pup.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose oncology because it is one of the few areas in medicine that relies on building relationships with your patients and understanding their values to provide individualized quality care. I truly enjoy getting to know my patients and working towards earning their trust. Oncology is also constantly advancing, which is exciting to me. There is always something new to learn that could potentially benefit my patients going forward. The most rewarding part of working in oncology is being there for my patients throughout their journey.
