Dr. Hassler completed his formal cardiothoracic surgery training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN followed by an advanced aortic and endovascular surgery fellowship at the University of Michigan. With a wealth of experience in complex aortic and cardiac procedures, Dr. Hassler is committed to providing exceptional care to his patients, emphasizing both surgical precision and compassionate support. He specializes in a range of cardiac surgeries including adult cardiac surgery, aortic surgery (open and endovascular), complex aortic repair (David procedure, Ross procedure), aortic annular enlargement (Y-incision), transcatheter cardio-aortic therapy (TAVR, TEVAR), minimally invasive cardiac surgery and high-risk reoperations. How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
My free time is spent with my wife, two sons and dog. I am also an avid athlete and sports fan.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I chose this specialty because I felt it allowed me the greatest opportunity to have a positive impact on society. The greatest reward is seeing my patients through their surgery and successful recovery back to the lifestyle they deserve.
