Kristen Jackson, MD

Kristen Jackson, MD is a board-certified Endocrinologist. She received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. She then completed an Internal Medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia and an Endocrinology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She specializes in treating adult endocrine disorders and is particularly interested in diabetes, thyroid disorders and osteoporosis.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?
My goal is to be an empathetic, encouraging, detail-oriented physician and to personalize treatment plans to a patient's individual needs.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?
I strive to provide up-to-date, evidence-based recommendations so that patients can make the best decisions for their treatment. To provide patient-centered care, I ask for honest and open communication from patients about their concerns.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?
I love spending time with family, friends and my golden retriever. I also enjoy traveling, reading, watching soccer and cheering on the Nebraska Huskers.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?
I enjoyed learning the science of the hormone feedback loops, however, the best part about Endocrinology is being able to form long-term relationships with patients and to see them improve their quality of life through a combination of hard work and medicine.
